Dear Janet, Kenneth and Frank and your families,
All of us from the Campbell extended family send condolences on this great loss. We have such happy memories of Lale, from her sweetness to my aging parents to the last charming mail relationship with Theo. He really loved getting her cards. She was a fine friend and such a gracious and charming hostess. It was always a delight to share one of her exquisite meals, and then sit outside and have easy conversation and watch the pond. Her philanthropic generosity sets an example as does her selfless church work. She will be missed but I am sure that floods of happy memories are being a consolation now. With love and best wishes, Sarah, Jody and Emily and extended families. Recent photo of Theo below—imagine him delightedly holding a card from Mrs, Lale

It's hard to believe that Lale is gone. We are so sorry for your great loss, and our hearts go out to you.
Our parents (Natalee and Don Powers) wanted to come to her service in Abilene, but were so sorry and sad - that we were unable to travel there for it.
Lale's obituary is absolutely beautiful, and so spot on. Our mom is no longer able to read, so when I read the obituary to her, she kept saying yes, that is so true about Lale... yes, she was just like that! Even though Mom had not seen Lale in many years, she was so happy that they had been able to keep in touch, and she always felt such a connection to her - for all of their lives. Skip and B.J. were truly life long friends - that will be greatly missed!
With much love, Natalee Powers, Don Powers, Lee Ann & Dale Renner, Paige & John Roach

We knew this day would come, yet because Lale was so full of life it still was a surprise. Lale was one of the first people Sara and I met in Abilene because of B.J.’s involvement in the Family Practice Residency Program. She invited us into her home and bowled us over with her Southern hospitality and joy for living. She absolutely took it in stride when I broke her rocking chair, which I suspect was an antique. I never asked about it again and she never mentioned it! She was always the first to ask about our kids and granddaughter and you knew she really did want to see the pictures. Indeed, it will be a little dimmer in Abilene, Texas knowing she’s no longer here with us. She was a beloved friend and a mentor for many doctor’s wives. God bless you all!
