LaVerne was born in Azle, Texas on August 17, 1935. She was the youngest of five children born to Gordon and Allene Reynolds. She attended Azle High School where she enjoyed cheering for the Hornets. She married the love of her life, James A. Boynton in Springtown, Texas, on August 24, 1957. LaVerne was a dedicated mother and took immense pride in her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
