I have had limited best friends in my life. Steve became my best friend when I was in 5th grade and he was in 4th. Steve, with his parents and Susan moved to Lawton, Ok. We did everything together-rode bikes, played ball, talked about God, politics, and, of course, girls. We often spent Friday nights at each others houses. Steve's mom introduced me to a joy-egg in a blanket for breakfast. The Wilsons were my 2nd family. We watched man walk on the moon for the first time at the Wilsons, right before the Wilsons moved back to Abilene.
I ended up getting a pack of football buddies to help fill the void left by Steve moving away. I have had more best friends but Steve will always be my BFF. Miss you Steve. When we reunite lets sleep in the back yard, throw the tennis ball down the hallway and watch your dog, Mitzi, run into the wall as she tries to fetch it. The memories are oh, so sweet. Till we meet again! Jesse
The family first began in the funeral business in 1933. The Hamil's legacy, beginning with the Elliott's to John and Jo Ann Hamil and now continuing with Robert and Karla Hamil, is to serve families in their time of need.
