Bobbie Jean Davis Hogan, 91, of Abilene, TX, passed away on Friday, January 18, 2019 in Abilene.

Visitation will be 5-7 pm Friday, January 25, 2019, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am Saturday, January 26, 2019, at the Wylie Baptist Church with her son-in-law Steve Hardin of the Lakepointe Whiterock Church in Dallas and Darrin Ray, officiating.   Burial will follow in the Potosi Cemetery under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home.

Bobbie Jean was born in Purley, TX to Cleve and Mavie Davis on April 5, 1927.  She went to school at Mt. Vernon, TX and graduated from Mt. Vernon High School.   Bobbie married her first and only sweetheart Charles Hogan on September 9, 1945 in Purley, TX. Amongst many work places prior to settling in Abilene, she worked as a Switchboard Operator for Hendrick Hospital for several years in the early ‘70s. Bobbie also worked faithfully in the McMurry University Library from the mid 70’s through the mid ‘80s.  From early on she was involved in her church, unselfishly serving her Lord Jesus in many ways: Nursery coordinator, WMU President and church Librarian represent just a few of those service areas.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents Cleve and Mavie, her sister Freda Barrett, her brothers C.S. and Lyndon Davis and her husband of 45 years, Charles Hogan.

Bobbie is survived by five children and their spouses: Ken and Tricia Hogan of Abilene, Stephanie and Mark Farquhar of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Mona Beth and Jeff Lawrence of Abilene, George and Penny Hogan of Belton, Texas, and Julie and Steve Hardin of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Francis McGrady of Vista, California; 14 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Mark Farquhar, Jr., Jeff Farquhar, David Hogan, Travis Lawrence, Tyler Lawrence, Max Hogan, Joey Hogan and Hill Hardin.

Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be “The Chicks”, Shirley Osterhoudt, Bobbie Roberts, Margaret DeLay, Doris Kitchens, Marcil McAlpin, TJ Elliott, Girtie Teaff and Wanda Stokes.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial be made to Hendrick Hospice Care, 1651 Pine Street, Abilene, Texas 79601.
