Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM Thursday, January 11th, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home. 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd. Abilene.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 12th, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home with Rev. Stan Allcorn and Dr. Jeff Reid of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Stanley was born in Abilene, Texas to Asa and Leatrice Alford on December 27, 1930. After graduating from Brownwood High School, he moved to Abilene and attended Draughn's Business College. He met the love of his life, Nan. They married and quickly started a family. He enjoyed working for Gibson's, Sears Roebuck & Co. and Gerber Baby Products. In 1975 Stan and Nan opened Alford's Antiques. Nan tended to the shop while Stan did what he loved most, searching for a hidden treasure! He loved the hunt more than anything. This allowed him to meet people and make many lifelong friends.

Stan was a deacon at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church where he and Nan were members for 29 years. He enjoyed being a greeter every Sunday morning. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge. He and Nan were longtime volunteers for Meals On Wheels.

Stan was preceded in death by his wife Nan, parents Asa and Leatrice Alford, brother Ray Alford and grandson, Clay Stanton. Stan is survived by son, Dike Alford, daughters Polly Smith and husband Steve, Pam Mitchell and husband Eddie.
