Wyman T. Wilkerson

Wyman T. Wilkerson, 83, of Abilene, passed away Monday, March 30, 2015 at Hendrick Medical Center. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Hillcrest Church of Christ. Burial will follow at a later date. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Dad was born November 23, 1931 in Mountain View, Oklahoma to I.E. and Lorene Wilkerson. Dad served in the Army in his younger years. He was an active sales representative for Hydrotex Lubricants up until his death. He was a spiritual leader among his family and peers and attended Hillcrest Church of Christ where he was very active. Dad was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Clarice Crook Wilkerson in 1969; two daughters, Sherry Simmering and Dion Hammond; and two sons, David Wilkerson and Kyle Wilkerson. He is survived by his wife, Billye Wilkerson; son, Mark and wife Louise of Stephenville; (Foster’s Home for Children), sons-in-law, Peter Simmering and Sally of Abilene, Kyle Hammond and wife Lori of Midland; his grandchildren, Jake, Cody, Clay, Katy, Katherine, Caroline, Creed, Madelyn and Blake.
