Willie Mae Woolsey
Willie Mae Woolsey, 87, of Abilene, died Friday, June 29, 2007. Funeral services, with Paul Matta and Donnie Voss officiating, will be at 11:00 am on Monday, July 2, 2007 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Burial will be at 3:00 pm in Baggett Cemetery in Comanche County, Texas. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
January 3, 1920, Willie Mae was born in Proctor, Texas to Victor Holden and Itallie Mae (Stephens) Holden. She married Elmer Harold Woolsey on September 23, 1939 in Comanche, Texas. Returning to Abilene from California in 1969, Willie Mae made Abilene her home until her death Friday. She was employed at The Butcher Block in Abilene. Willie Mae was a member of Southwest Park Baptist Church.
Preceding Willie Mae in death were her parents, Victor and Itallie Holden; one brother, Balvin Holden; two sisters, Thelma Fulks and Oleta Voss and one granddaughter, Kimberly Lamb. She is survived by her husband, Elmer Woolsey of Abilene; her son, Vick Woolsey and his wife Carmella of Cedar Hill, Texas; her daughter, Marsha McCrackin of Grand Prairie, Texas; one sister, Dorothy Scott and her husband C.C. and their precious daughter, LaVon Scott of Potosi; and a niece, Sue Munson and her husband Don of Abilene. Nieces, nephews, 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren also survive Willie Mae.
Marc Woolsey, Travis Woolsey, Aaron McCrackin and Zane Bridges will serve as pallbearers.
