Heaven became a little sweeter with the passing of Willie Mae Tusing on October 12, 2018, in Abilene, TX.
Visitation and devotional lead by Dr. Jerry Vincent will be held at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road on Tuesday, October 16th from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. before transferring Mrs. Tusing for burial at Fort Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, TX at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, October 18, 2018.
Mrs. Tusing was born on May 21, 1928 to Joe and Sadie (Sartor) Mowles in Shamrock, TX. She attended Leedy High School in Leedy, Oklahoma. She married Alfred "Shorty" Tusing in 1946. They were married for 48 years. They resided at Boles Acres Station, New Mexico for many years. They both served as Home Missionaries for the Alamogardo, New Mexico area. They also served together for the volunteer fire department at Boles Acres. Mrs. Tusing worked for 30 years as a Civil Servant at Holloman Air Force Base hospital at White Sands, New Mexico in the accounting department. Later, after her retirement, she worked in the nursery at her church, First Baptist Church, Alamogardo, New Mexico. She enjoyed crocheting earning many first-place ribbons at local and regional fairs. She moved to Abilene in the late 1990's.
Mrs. Tusing was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, "Shorty", sisters Anna Belle Mowles, Mary Jo Free and Velma Lee Giles.
Mrs. Tusing is survived by two sons, John Tusing and wife Ann of Colorado Springs, Co., and James Tusing of Abilene, one grandson, Wesley and on great granddaughter, April, one sister, Rosie Pace Luther and spouse, Melvin of Weatherford, TX, and six nieces, one nephew and their families.
Memorials may be given to Hospice of The Big Country or your favorite charity. The family of Willie Mae Tusing wishes to extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Sandra Hazelip, Hospice of The Big Country, hospice staff, Deborah, Brenda, Sam, Sheila, Christi, Pam, Jerry and Martha. We also extend our gratitude to the staff at Windcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
