William C. "Bill" Warlick, 84, of Abilene, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2023. He was born on May 17, 1939 to John and Selma Warlick in Merkel.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, June 12 at Hodges Baptist Church, with burial following at Midway Cemetery. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd.
William graduated from Abilene High School in 1957. In 1959, he married the love of his life, Nancy Ratliff. He attended Texas Tech before working for the Texas Highway Department for numerous years. William also served honorably in the United States Army Reserves for five years. He later pursued farming and ranching. William loved spending time with his two dogs on his back patio. He loved spending time with all of his grandchildren, playing golf with his grandson, hunting, and fishing with his friends and family at his own tank. Outside of his own family, he loved being a part of his church family at Hodges Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Nancy Warlick, son Todd Warlick, and brother Darwin Warlick.
William is survived by his daughter Tammy Awalt and husband Shane of Abilene; sister Darlene Pope and husband Bill of Potosi; grandchildren, Kaitlin Raitz and husband Jacob of Bandera, TX, Kirsten Awalt of Los Angeles, CA, and Colby Awalt and wife Maggie of Ovalo, TX. He also leaves behind one great-grandchild, Hallie Raitz, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hodges Baptist Church.
