William Edward Stevens

William "Bill" Edward Stevens, 56, of Baird, passed on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in Baird, TX. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, January 8th at The Hamil Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 9th at the Ridgemont Baptist Church. Officiating will be Pastor Jeff Addison and Paul Matta. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery. Bill was born December 26, 1961 in Merkel, TX to Steve and Kathy Stevens. He graduated from Cooper High School in 1979. Bill was employed in the grocery business for 37 years, where he made many life long friends. Bill was a member of the Ridgemont Baptist Church. Bill was a family man. He loved spending time with his family. He really enjoyed walking around the Mall of Abilene with his dad and he never missed watching the San Francisco 49rs. He was a lifelong & dedicated fan of the Niners. Bill's greatest love was for his son. Bill is survived by his parents, Steve & Kathy Stevens of Abilene. Son, Blaine Stevens & wife Kris of New Bern, NC. Brothers; Dennis Stevens & wife Debbie of Atwater, CA & Jimmy Stevens & wife Tamara of Anson. One sister; Barbara DeFoor & husband Jimmy of Abilene. One niece and six nephews. Pallbearers will be Jed Bailey, Joshua Stevens, Zachary Stevens, Michael Stevens, Randy Schuffrt & Artero Gomaz, Jr. The family wishes to express their thanks to the wonderful family at Homestead Nursing & Rehab and Hendrick Hospice Care.
