William Clifton Necessary, 90 of Abilene, Texas, went to be with His Heavenly Father on Saturday, August 4, 2018.
A Memorial Service will be held at Broadview Baptist Church in Abilene at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 with Reverend David Cason officiating. Burial will follow at McBee Cemetery in Ovalo, Texas. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene.
Mr. Necessary was born on December 6, 1927 in Lohn, Texas to Orville Neal (“Pat”) and Ruth (Shackelford) Necessary. After graduating high school in Lohn, he enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy from 1946-1947. He married his beloved wife of 64 years, Katie (Reese) Necessary on July 11, 1954.
He was employed with Lone Star Gas Company for 40 years and worked in Abilene, Merkel and Snyder, Texas. He was also an active church member and deacon at Broadview Baptist Church in Abilene, Texas and at First Baptist Church in Snyder, Texas.
He was predeceased in death by his parents; his brother, Curtis Necessary; and his infant brother, Jerry Lee Necessary.
He is survived by his wife, Katie Necessary; his children, Randy Necessary and his wife Narlene of Ovalo; Linda Ward and her husband Randy of Goldsboro; Christie Salsman and her husband Daniel of Abilene; his siblings, Harold Necessary and his wife Jeannie of Conroe; Laverne Pearson of Georgetown. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
