 William (Bill) Thomas Jumper

 Bill Jumper, 77, of Abilene, TX, passed away on December 13, 2024.

Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 Sunday, December 15th at Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd, Abilene, TX.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00, Monday December 16th at Hamil Family Funeral Home with Daniel McKay of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 US-277, Abilene, TX. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home.

 Bill was born in Andrews, TX to W.T. and Patsy Jumper on May 23rd, 1947. He graduated from Andrews High School in 1965. He earned his associate’s degree from UT Permian Basin in Odessa, TX. He married his childhood sweetheart Carolyn Price on June 17, 1966, in Andrews, TX; they were married for 58 years. He worked for GTE and then Pioneer Telephone for 45 years, beginning as a lineman, then installer repairman, cable splicer and finally central office technician in Comanche, OK. Bill was a self-taught jack of all trades. He and Carolyn owned rental property which they remodeled and maintained for 20 years. He built their home in Duncan, OK where they lived for 35 years.

 Bil and Carolyn loved to square dance while living in Oklahoma and served on the District and State boards. They traveled with friends to national conventions. After retiring they moved to Granbury, TX to be closer to family. After 10 years in Granbury, Bill and Carolyn moved to Abilene. 

Bill was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great grand-children and their accomplishments. He enjoyed watching the babies and they all loved him. He loved his Pepsi, Mexican food, and munching crunched ice. 

 Bill accepted Jesus Christ as his savior in 1998 and was baptized at New Hope Baptist Church in Duncan, OK. 

 Bill was preceded in death by his parents, W.T. and Patsy Jumper. 

 Bill is survived by his wife Carolyn, daughter Beverly Frederick and spouse Robert, son Alan Jumper and spouse Jill, sisters Cheryl Jumper, Linda Jones, and Pam Williams, 6 grandchildren (his rascals): Christian, Kayla, Braden, Jakob, Ashli, and Colten, and 4 great-grandchildren: Archer, Chandler, Logan, and Anderleigh.
