Bill worked as a traveling salesman for many years. He later owned and operated his own car wash and a used car lot next to it. He loved to play penny ante poker, and to visit with friends at the United Supermarket coffee shop on South 14th Street. He and Peggy visited almost every state, including Alaska and Hawaii, and many places in Canada. He enjoyed spending time with his cat, Boots. Bill and Peggy moved to Abilene from Houston in 1971. He served his country in the US Marine Corps.
Bill is survived by his wife, Peggy, of Abilene; his children, Jennifer E. Green of Little Rock, Arkansas, Susan G. Taylor of Austin, Texas, and William P. Green and Jack W. Green, both of Abilene; and one brother, Richard Green of Bowie, Texas.
