William "Bill" Elmore, 69, died Sunday, January 1, 2017, at a medical center in Abilene, Texas.
Born in Abilene, Texas on April 5, 1947, Bill was the son of the late Mary Margrite (Craig) and William Odis Elmore. Bill graduated from Abilene High School in 1965 and served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a M.P. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. After returning from service, he began working for Texas Instruments in Dallas and then transferred to the Abilene facility. After the TI facility closed, Bill worked as a prison guard for the Texas Department of Corrections at the Robertson Facility.
Bill is survived by his brother, Bruce Elmore and wife Sue of Abilene; a niece and husband, Adrianne and Randy Farmer of Tuscola and their daughter Kaitlyn; and a niece and husband, Jenny and Brandon Moore of San Angelo and their children Avery and Ridley.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 6th, in Buffalo Gap Cemetery with Tommy Ross officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 5th, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene.
