William R. "Bill" Credicott, 62, passed away Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas.
The son of the late William "Bill" M. and Betty Litchard Credicott, he was born on August 29, 1949 in Niagara Falls, New York. In October of 1965, he and his family moved to Farmington, Maine. He graduated from Farmington High School in 1967. He was a veteran of the United States Army, 299th Combat Engineers, having served in Vietnam. In 1973 he graduated from the University of Maine, Orono with a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resource Management. He went to work in the 1970's at Commercial Welding Company in South Portland, Maine. In 1994 he worked for Lauren Engineers & Constructors in Abilene, Texas as Safety Director.
He loved music, played guitar for years, and did beautiful photography.
Bill is survived by his wife of 42 years, Anne Marie Sinskie Credicott; his son, Cain Credicott and wife, Tamara "Tammy" of Bend, Oregon, and daughter, Misty Credicott of Standish, Maine; his sister, Caryn Hayden and husband Rick of Hollis, Maine. He leaves many nieces and nephews. He leaves granddaughters, Makenna Ann and Rilee Anne of Bend, Oregon, and his grandson, Jacob "Jake" William Staples of Standish, Maine. He also leaves sisters-in-law, Liegh Croteau and husband Dennis, Suzette Kendall and husband John of Farmington, Maine, and Jan Sinskie of Salem, Massachusetts. Bill was a loving husband, father and Bumpa.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 22, in The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. His body will be cremated.
The family would like to thank Dr. Adam McKowski, Malissa, Erik, Kallie, Dr. Roake and a special thank you to Dr. Holland and nurse Tracy, the firemen and ambulance personnel.
