Willard Davis, of Abilene, passed away on April 20, 2013 in Abilene, Texas.
Visitation will be 5 - 7pm Monday, April 22 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd. in Abilene.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Tuesday, April 23, at First Baptist Church, Hawley with Dr. Mark Riley of Connell Baptist Church in Fort Worth, officiating. Burial will follow in Hawley Cemetery under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home.
Willard was born in Geronimo, Oklahoma to Marion Jackson and Georgia Ann Virginia (Dean) Davis on July 27, 1920. He married Dorothy Neoma Newton on April 21, 1946 in Abilene. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the Army Air Corp. He taught short schools on water management for Texas A&M extension, and was city water and waste water manager for Corsicana, Floydada, and Odessa. He was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and a Southern Baptist deacon.
Willard was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Georgia Davis, his brothers Vaude, Leon, Curly, John, Jude, and Bill; his sisters Jewell, Newell, Virgie, and Alline.
Willard is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Abilene; his son Larry Davis and wife Teri of Deer Park; daughter Bernis Riley and husband Mark, of Fort Worth; grandson Jarod Davis and wife Jennifer and their son Sterling and daughter Liberty, of China; grandson Jason Davis and wife Niki and their daughter Jocelyn and son Jaxon, of Houston; granddaughter Cassie McFadden and husband Jason, and their sons Jonas, Ian, Lance, and Isaac, of Abilene; his grandsons Matthew and John Riley, of Austin; and granddaughter Heather Riley, of Fort Worth.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Riley, John Riley, Jason Davis, Jason McFadden, Gene Hudson, and Chad Hudson.
