Wesley Cole Smith, 37 of Abilene, Texas passed away on June 6th 2018.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, June 16th at First Baptist Church of Abilene. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. “Wesley Approved Attire” is welcomed.

Wesley Cole Smith was born in Minot, North Dakota to Stephen and Beverly Smith on January 6th 1981. He grew up in San Angelo Texas where he attended school at Central High School and Angelo State University. Wesley is the proud father of Daisy Joy and Fletcher Cole Smith. Wesley started work at Chick-fil-A when he was 16 years old and was an Owner/Operator for the company for the past twelve years in Abilene. Wesley was either on the board of, volunteered for and/or donated to the following organizations: Hendrick Home for Children, Dancing with the Abilene Stars, TX Mission of Mercy, Abilene Chamber of Commerce, Abilene Young Professionals, Grace Museum, Abilene Visitors & Convention Bureau, United Way, Salvation Army, March of Dimes Golf for Babies, I am Abilene, American Cancer Society, Cattle Barron’s, Ben Richey Boys Ranch, Beltin’ for the Boys, Leadership Abilene, Cooper Cougar Booster, Friends of the Library, West Texas Rehab, Six Brothers Brewery, Love & Care Ministries, Big Country Balloon Fest, Big Country Home Builders Association, Communities in Schools, Boots for the Big Country, Goodwill, Military Affairs Committee, New Horizons, Outlaws & Legends, Hope Haven, Junior League, Breakfast with Santa, AISD/WISD Project Graduation, P4X, Alliance for Women & Children, and Junior Achievement of Abilene.

Wesley was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Clyde and Zona Smith and maternal grandparents C.C. and Anna Gallagher.

Wesley is survived by his two children, Daisy Joy and Fletcher Cole, his parents, Stephen and Beverly Smith, his sister, Lanna Hubbard, her husband Clayton, and his sister, Katy Smith. Wesley leaves behind many nieces and nephews; Haley and Jessica Smith, Avery and Crosby Hubbard, Dylan, Lane and Peyton Taylor and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Wesley’s Chick-fil-A crew is another special group of people that he considered family as well.  

Wesley will be remembered for his wit, charisma, and his servants heart. He truly loved his kids, family, friends and the community of Abilene. It was his pleasure to serve you.
