Funeral services will be held 11am, Saturday April 27, 2024 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home with Johnnie Franklin of the Cossacks Chaplain Chapter officiating.
Wayne was born in Abilene, TX to Jerry and Lujane Corley on January 25, 1962. Wayne loved to share his stories of all the crazy things he did while growing up. There was not a single one that didn’t include his sister, Michelle, and his best friend, Gary. The three of them could be seen causing chaos all along south 40th street. The fun times continued all the way up to Wayne’s graduation from Sweetwater high school in 1980.
Wayne met the love of his life, Janet, in 1981. They cruised the streets on Wayne’s motorcycle straight to the courthouse and were married on February 3, 1983. They spent 33 wonderful years together and welcomed two sons, Jeremy and Dustin. Wayne worked as a maintenance manager for Barnett & Hill for many years. He could fix anything and was the first call for any project. Wayne was a member of the Cossacks Motorcycle club for 17 years. He loved to ride his Harley for miles and made many friends along the journey.
Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Corley and his wife, Janet Corley.
Wayne is survived by his son, Jeremy and wife Cassie, grandson Aiden, his son Dustin and wife Dannielle, his mother Lujane, his sister Michelle, nieces Brandy Curtis and Misty Wade, nephew Cody Booher as well as many other family and friends.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Appah and Hendrick’s Oncology, Big Country Hospice, and all the family and friends who provided comfort during this trying time. The family would like to give special recognition to Erin Steddum for all the love and support to Wayne for the past 5 years including his fight with cancer.
The family ask that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made in Wayne’s memory to Big Country Hospice.
