Wanna Monette Yarbrough

Monette (Geno) Yarbrough went to be with the Lord on June 4, 2016. Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Thursday, June 9th at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene with Rev. Burtis Williams officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 8th. Burial will be in the Iberis Cemetery. She was a Realtor for over 30 years. She was a member of Broadview Baptist Church, The Red Hats Society, Rambling Red Roses, Thursday Book Review Club and The Big Six. She taught 1st grade Sunday School at Calvary Baptist Church for many years when her children were young. She held every office in The Texas Police Wives Association, including President. Her love was her children and grandchildren. When the grandchildren were young she spent many hours making cookies and playing hide and seek with them. They loved going to her lake cabin on LBJ Lake. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 50 years, H.H. Yarbrough, one grandchild, Joshua Yarbrough and two brothers, Troyce Vassar & James Vassar. Survivors include four children, Steve Yarbrough, Randy Yarbrough, Cheryl Fox and husband Brian and Hillary Estrada and husband Franky. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Jace Yarbrough and wife Elizabeth, Jada Davis and husband Kevin, Jaron Yarbrough and wife Meagan, Jessa Yarbrough, Emily Fox, Sarah Fox and Jacob Yarbrough. Three brothers and sisters, Sylvia Pruitt, Reta Piper and Duffy Vassar. Great-grandchildren; Haven Yarbrough, Cecily Yarbrough, Bennett Davis and Elliana Monette Estrada. Arrangements are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene.
