Walter "Cotton" Webb, 93, died, Monday, December 26, 2016, in Abilene, Texas.
Born in Potosi, Texas, on April 3, 1923, Walter was son of Nannie Bell (Johnson) and William McDaniel Webb. He was a lifelong resident of the Abilene area. After he graduated from high school, he served in the U. S. Army. He was a warehouse supervisor for Abilene Plumbing Supply in Abilene, and a member of Tye Baptist Church.
Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Inez Askins Webb in 2003; parents; and four brothers.
Walter is survived by four children, Martha Snowden and husband Rickey of Tye, Charlotte Gill and husband Johnny of Wichita Falls, Stanley Webb of Tye, and Wayne Webb and wife Evelyn of Abilene; nine grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 29, at Tye Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Ritter officiating. A military graveside service will follow in Tye Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Sean Gill, Kelly Gill, T. J. Roberts, Zane Petty, Cody Carson and Aaron Wimberley.
