Walter "Wally" Neil McGee

Walter “Wally” McGee went home to the Lord Saturday morning January 29, 2022 at the family’s home outside of Ovalo, Texas.

He was born November 30, 1959 in Lubbock, Texas, the son of Hilda and O.F. McGee.  Wally was the second of five children, and on February 29, 1980 he married his love Debra Lynn VanMeter.  

He made a career with the Federal Aviation Administration, bringing some of his lifelong friendships.  Wally graduated from Uvalde, TX where his work in Aviation would have its beginnings.  It would shape his future, and bring friends and colleagues throughout.

He is survived by his loving wife Debra, his two sons Austin and Brenden, his daughter in law Bailey and grandson Ashtin, his four siblings Eric, Bridget, Monica and Kevin, his nieces and nephews, and countless friends made throughout his life.

Wally will have his memorial service at Hamil Family Funeral Home in Abilene, Texas at 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd on Saturday, February 12 at 1pm, with Pastor Kenny Smith officiating.

Memorials may be made in Wally's honor to The Gideons to help spread the message of Christ to the world.
