Walter Parker

Walter Martin Parker, 76, of Dudley, TX passed away on June 28, 2016 in Abilene. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, July 1st at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 2nd at the Hwy 36 Church of Christ with Greg Melton officiating. Burial will follow at the Tecumseh Cemetery. Walter was born in Sondheimer, LA to Floyd & Louise (Carter) Parker on January 2, 1940. He graduated from Lake Providence, LA High School. He married Linda (Chrane) Parker on June 9, 1962. He was a farmer and rancher, he also worked in the oilfield for Hayhurst Brother's Drilling Co. Walter is survived by his wife of 54 Years Linda Parker. Children, Marty Parker & wife Paula of Dudley, Wade Parker & wife Mia of Dudley & Jason Moore of Clyde. Brothers, Gary & Ricky Parker both of Sondheimer, LA. Sisters, Frances George of Bartlet, TN & Donna Weise of Haskell. He is also survived by nine grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Steve Wallace, Steve Ellis, Randy Moore, John Armor, Jay Hayhurst & Darrell (Bucket) Dillard. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gary & Leon Chrane. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the Tecumseh Cemetery Association, 15255 FM 1178, Clyde, TX 79510.
