Virginia graduated from Knox City High School and attended McMurry College for two years before her marriage to Harvey Lee Reynolds on May 29, 1951. Harvey and Virginia were married for 54 years.
Harvey served in the United States Navy, and Virginia loved being a Navy wife. They were stationed in San Diego, California, and then moved to Pensacola, Florida in 1953 where their son Danny was born. They served in Norman, Oklahoma; back to San Diego, California; Oahu, Hawaii; and lastly Washington D.C. When Harvey retired from the Navy in 1965, they moved to Abilene.
Virginia loved drinking coffee and visiting with her neighbors and friends. She was always active in the PTA, and served as a Sunday School teacher in all of the churches for which she was a member. In Abilene, they joined Belmont Baptist Church, and she served as a Sunday School teacher for youth, college students and women's classes. Later they joined Pioneer Drive Baptist Church where she served as a teacher and department director for many years.
Virginia enjoyed being a homemaker, as well as working at the Gold Bond Stamp Center and Caldwell's Gift Shop, but her favorite role was being a grandmother. Her grandsons Jacob and Jared were the joy of her life!
