Sue Bradshaw, 79, passed away on June 4, 2023, in Abilene, TX due to injuries sustained in a fall.
Visitation will be on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at Clear Fork Baptist Church, Hawley, TX, on Friday, June 9, at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery near Anson. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd.
Sue was born in Peacock, TX to John and Johnnie Elkins on Oct. 18, 1943. She attended Peacock Schools until her family moved to Abilene in 1958 and then graduated from Abilene High School in 1961. She married Johnny Bradshaw on August 11, 1960 in Abilene. She had successful careers working at Timex, Texas Instruments, and as a Certified Medical Assistant, as well as being a wonderful cook and occasional farm hand. She was an active member of North Park Baptist, First Baptist Hawley, Ft. Phantom Baptist, Clear Fork Baptist, and was currently attending Hodges Baptist, all in the greater Abilene area.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, John and Johnnie Elkins, and her four brothers, Truman, Calton, Freddie, and Dearl.
She is survived by her husband, Johnny, her two sons Randall and Scott (Kim), her grandsons Joby and Pake, an aunt, cousins, numerous nieces and nephews, and supportive in-laws.
Pallbearers will be Robert and Doyle Walker (cousins), Truman, Fred, Sam, and John Elkins (nephews), and Joby and Pake Bradshaw (grandsons)
The family of Sue wishes to thank the doctors and nurses of Hendrick Emergency Room, the Critical Care Unit, and Hospice for their help.
