Violet Mae Pedersen

Vi Pedersen, 74, passed away on May 25, 2021 in Abilene, Texas. Visitation will be Friday, May 28th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Hamil Family Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 29th at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road with James Clawson pastor of Central Baptist Church of Hamlin officiating. Burial will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene. Vi was born in Hobart, Oklahoma to Ellis and Cleo West on September 12, 1947. They moved to Hamlin in 1960 where she graduated from Hamlin High in 1965. After graduation she attended LVN school and finished in 1966, then began her nursing for around 44 years. She married Paul Allen Pedersen on April 14, 1967 in Abilene. Paul was active military for 20 years in the United States Air Force. She was preceded in death by Paul Pedersen & her parents Ellis & Cleo West. She is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband Charlie Wade, son Paul E. Pedersen a daughter, Marie Spaulding of Abilene. Grandson Chaz Spaulding of Abilene, a sister Vickie West Crowley of Hamlin and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her three dogs: Max, Jax and Mocha. Memorials can be made to Rescue the Animals or the Disabled Veterans.
