Vickie Brown

Vickie Lee Brown, 74, of Abilene, TX, passed away on April 13, 2025 in Abilene.

Visitation will be 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Wednesday April 16, 2025 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Broadview Baptist Church 2500 S 27th St, Abilene, with Pastors Wes Terry and David Cason, officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

Vickie was born Billings, Montana to Ivan Fredrick and Mamie Ophelia Hutchens on June 8, 1950. She graduated from Abilene High School. She married Bobby Joe Brown on July 19, 1968 in Abilene, Texas. She worked as a beautician for many years until she became full time Mimi. She was involved in teaching Sunday School for over 50 years. She taught her children, grandchildren and countless others about the love of Jesus. Her favorite role was MiMi. She played an important part in each of their lives. They all hold many memories and stories from their time with her.

Vickie was preceded in death by her parents.

Vickie is survived by husband, Bobby Brown; daughters, Kristi Rodriguez and spouse Stan, Amy Kasberg and spouse Sam; brother Mike Hutchens and spouse Janice; grandchildren Blaine Kasberg and wife Lindsey , Allie Wilkins, Hannah Silva and husband Luis, Brooke Schumann and husband Gary, Cole Rodriguez and Grace Kasberg. One great-grandchild, Lyla Lee Kasberg.

Pallbearers will be Blaine Kasberg, Cole Rodriguez, Mike Hutchens, Sam Kasberg, Stan Rodriguez, Gary Schumann and Luis Silva.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Hazel and Nancy, Mom’s angels from Home Instead, Dr. Melnyk and the wonderful nurses and staff from Hospice of The Big Country.
