Vernoghn Strole, 77, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.
Born in Abilene, Texas on January 28, 1934, Vernoghn was the daughter of W. G. and Emma Carpenter. She was a 1952 graduate of Abilene High School and attended Abilene Christian University. She also completed real estate training, and was previously employed by Senter Realtors. Vernoghn was a member of Highland Church of Christ.
Mrs. Strole was preceded in death in 2002 by her husband, Donald G. Strole, M.D., and by her parents.
Vernoghn was a woman of generosity and integrity who always recognized and appreciated the many blessings in her life. She was much loved by her family, friends and her beloved dog and companion, Tinka.
Survivors include her two daughters, Melia Randolph and husband Mack of San Antonio, and Lori Wood and husband Keith of Carrollton, Texas, and five grandchildren. Survivors also include a brother, Jimmy Carpenter and wife Mary of Edmond, OK; sister, Sandy Meyer and husband Buddy of Abilene; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 28, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. Graveside services will be private.
