Vera Jessup

Vera Jessup, 94, passed away Monday, March 6, 2006 at a local nursing center. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 9 in the Eldorado Cemetery in Eldorado, Texas, with Gene Linder and Bill Hilton officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Vera was born on June 12, 1911 in Eldorado, Texas to Ovid Wade and Myrtle (Bray) Wade. She received her degree from Sul Ross State University and became a school teacher. She married Clarence Jessup, who preceded her in death in 1991. Mrs. Jessup moved to Abilene on September 7, 2000 from Sonora, Texas. She was a Presbyterian. Vera is survived by several nieces and nephews and her long time friends, Bill and Alvah Jean Hilton.
