Vera Mae DuRoss

Vera Mae DuRoss, 91, of Tuscola, Texas died Friday, October 22, 2010 at an Abilene medical center. Born in Bosque County, Texas on May 7, 1919, she was the daughter of Bertha (Knott) and John William Morrison. She was a graduate of Morgan High School, and in 1983 moved from Stamford, Texas to Abilene. Vera was a homemaker and a member of Southwest Park Baptist Church in Abilene. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Reba Strickland in 1992; her parents; two brothers and three sisters. Survivors include her daughter, Rita Yates of Tuscola; brother, Joe Ray Morrison and wife JoAnn of Hurst, Texas; four grandchildren, Ricky Lee Wedeking of Stamford and Lori White of Tuscola, and Wesley Green and Micah Green both of Abilene; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 25, in Iberis Cemetery with Rev.
