Vera Mae (Baugh) Coe died Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at a local nursing home. She was 82 years old. A graveside service will be held Friday, August 5, at 12:30 p.m. in the Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories, with the Rev. Brett W. Coe officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Vera was born on December 26, 1928 in Etowah County, Alabama, to the late Andrew and Balmer Baugh. A resident of Texas for most of her life, she worked for American Optical in Dallas until her retirement. She loved her friends, her dogs, and coffee, but above all else, she adored her family and loved them without condition.
Vera was preceded in death by her parents; William Coe, the father of her children; one son, Michael Coe; two brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by one daughter, Brenda Mashburn and husband Lloyd of Clyde; one son, Larry Coe and wife Paula of Abilene; eight grandchildren, Rhonda Mashburn of Fort Worth; Madonna Mashburn and Lara Gillian of Long Beach, CA; Kevin Coe and wife Becky of Mansfield; Brett Coe and wife Julie of Wichita Falls; Julie Coe and Greg Hernandez of Red Oak; Laura Ruybal and husband Chris of Abilene; Melissa Allen and husband Clint of Sweetwater; Paloma Coe of Purdon; 14 great grandchildren, Kobe and Khloe Mashburn-Gillian of Long Beach, CA; Deanna, Keaton, and Megan Coe of Mansfield; McKeylee Smart, Rylan and Brydan Hernandez of Red Oak; Lisette Truitt Coe of Kirtland, NM, Blake and Kimy Coe of Wichita Falls; Christopher Ruybal of Abilene; Christyn and Caden Allen of Sweetwater; and one great great grandchild, Melanie Olsen of Albuquerque, NM.
