Velores Duke

Velores “Lois” Duke, 90, of Abilene, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Hendrick Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 in Memory Park Cemetery in Longview, Texas. Lois was born July 13, 1922 in Garvin, Oklahoma to Dee T. Loving Sr. and Margaret (Griffen) Loving. She traveled with her husband while he worked for Dresser Oil Company. Lois moved from Longview and has lived in Abilene for the past three years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Kenneth Duke; three sisters, Rene Smith, Evone Adair and Leveda Kitchens; and one brother, Dee T. Loving, Jr. Lois is survived by one daughter, Joan Pickering of Longview; one brother, Frank Loving and one brother-in-law, Boots Kitchens, both of Longview; one sister-in-law, Wynelle Loving of Abilene; one grandson, Robert Pickering of Houston; two great-grandchildren, Christopher and Leisa Pickering; one great-great grandchild; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
