Vaudine "Deanie" Jones Vaudine "Deanie" Jones, 88, of Abilene, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2011 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 525 Beech Street. Dr. Eduardo Rivera will officiate. She will be entombed in the Mausoleum at Elmwood Memorial Park following the service. Viewing will be from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Deanie was born December 19, 1922 in Hermleigh, Texas to Guy and Vida Ellis. She married Lloyd Jones on September 29, 1945 in Weatherford, Texas. Deanie and her husband co-owned Lloyd Jones Photography Studio. She worked in their business as the secretary. She enjoyed water sports, bowling, photography, Bridge, reading and traveling with her husband and friends. Deanie has been a faithful member of St. Paul UMC since the 1950's. She was a member, and past president in 1953, of the Abilene Secretaries Association. Deanie was also was a member of the American Business Women's Association, the Abilene Woman's Club and a member of the Propheteer's Sunday school class at St. Paul UMC. Deanie volunteered for 15 years for Hendrick's Women's Auxiliary, as well as Meals on Wheels in Abilene. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd in 1992; her sister Jean Moore; and one brother W.E. Ellis. Deanie is survived by two sons, Dick Nachlinger and wife Sharon of Pantego, Lannie Jones and wife Christina of Tuscola; one brother, Donald Ellis and wife Delores of Abilene; five grandchildren, Dan Nachlinger and wife Lisa, Layne Warr and husband Tommy, Miles Jones, Matthew Jones and wife Christy, and Micah Jones and husband John Beltz; five great-grandchildren, Aaron, Alyssa, Jordan, Lauren and Oliver; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Deanie's family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Wesley Court and Hendrick Hospice Care for their loving care. Memorials may be made in honor of Deanie to Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 903, Abilene, TX 79604.
