Valerie Joann Croy, 28, died Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at a Dallas hospital.
The daughter of Sherry Rene' (McCraw) and Greg Alan Wood, Valerie was born on December 11, 1980 in Abilene, Texas. She married Jason Parker Croy on December 6, 1997 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Valerie was a mother and a homemaker. She was a member of the Prairie Creek Baptist Church in Plano, Texas.
Valerie was preceded in death by one brother, Christopher Alan Wood, and her grandfathers, Jerry McCraw and Jack Wood.
She is survived by her husband, Jason Croy, and two daughters, Jayce Croy and Brylee Croy, all of Plano; parents, Greg and Sherry Wood of Abilene; two sisters, Randa Jolly and husband, Charles, of San Angelo, and Whitney Tate and husband, John; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Survivors also include her paternal grandmother, Jean Wood, paternal great-grandmother, Elsie Carpenter, maternal grandmother, Betty McCraw, and maternal great-grandfather, Olan Tally, all of Abilene.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 21, at Lytle South Baptist Church with Rev. Rodney Watson officiating. Interment will follow in The Henson Family Cemetery directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
