Trina Darlene Patrick Reyes

Trina Darlene Patrick-Reyes, 48, passed away at her home in Abilene Thursday, October 3, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. Trina’s life journey was one of wisdom and love. Her laugh could brighten a room, and her smile always reached her eyes. Born on October 16, 1964 in Sweetwater, Texas, Trina was the daughter of Betty Hubbard and Charles Patrick. Her imagination and curiosity followed her throughout her life, and were expressed in her paintings that gave life to a white wall. Trina worked at Lowe’s for 17 years. The employees in turn became her extended family, providing and extending support for Trina throughout her fight with cancer. In the 17 years she managed to learn the names of everyone in her store. They encouraged her with letters, cards and flowers through this journey. Trina is survived by her mother and father; stepfather, Mitchell “Papaw” Hubbard; sister, Mechelle Roady; brother-in-law, Art; stepchildren, John Reyes, Jennifer Reyes and Christina Rollins; niece, Chelby; nephews, James and Benjamin Powell; stepsisters, Lynette Murray and Lori Holland; and stepbrothers and wives, Jerry and Ruby Hubbard and Jeff and Bobbi Hubbard, as well as several other extended family nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and her very best friend. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 6, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene, with Joel Tobey officiating.
