Tracy Lynn Root

Tracy Lynn Root, 54, of Abilene, passed away on Nov 17 after a valiant battle with a long-term illness. Visitation will be Friday, November 20 from 6-8 pm at Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 21 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home with Nell Simms of Highland Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Gap Cemetery. Tracy was born at England A.F.B. in Alexandria, Louisiana to Darlene and Harry Root on March 14, 1961. She attended Cooper High School. Tracy had an open and generous heart, and was a friend to all. She was an active grandmother to Corbin and Caleb Kloster of Tuscola which included weekly sleepovers, pizza and cookie baking, and garage sale-ing on Saturday mornings. Tracy was an active member of Highland Church of Christ and a supporter of Love & Care Ministries. Tracy is survived by her beloved son and daughter-in-law, Nickolas and Maher Kloster of Tuscola, TX and beloved daughter, Brittany Houlihan of NY, NY, brother and sister-in-law, Harry Jr. and Andi Root of Abilene, sister, Susan Root Aston of NY, NY, brother, Paul Root of Abilene, parents, Harry and Darlene Root of Abilene, and her dog, Lucy. Lisa Ward of Abilene, friend since childhood, was a constant support to Tracy and the family. Tracy was preceded in death by her faithful dog, Baby.
