Tony Dale Dry, 68, of Abilene, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2023. He was born on August 18, 1954, in Bronte, TX to Charles and Bonnie Dry.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 23 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, with Mark Young, the director of the Boys and Girls Club officiating.
Tony graduated from Winters High School. He married Janelle Hulliger on December 31, 1976, in Tuscola. Tony worked at Pool Well Service as Marketing and Sales Director for over 20 years, and he was also in the food distribution business. He owned Billy Bean’s Hot Sauce Company of Abilene and produced his #1 in the nation hot sauce product at Disability Resources Inc. He was a man of many talents and a storyteller with a golden tongue, he often told stories that were so interesting they didn’t even sound real. Tony played musical instruments, sang, and was a poetry and song writer. He had a talent for loving people, loving Jesus, and witnessing Jesus everywhere he went, from the bar to the church, to the rodeo to the music venue. He had a very colorful and enjoyable life, and his favorite sayings were, “We are too blessed to be stressed” and “We are too anointed to be disappointed.” May my beloved husband rest in peace.
Tony was much loved and will be sorely missed by his wife of 46 years, Janelle Dry, his son Tony, his sister Teresa, his niece and nephew, Michelle and Scott and their children, and Janelle’s nephews Marlin and Forest.
Memorials may be made in Tony’s name to the Boys & Girls Club of Abilene, Rescue the Animals, Meals on Wheels, Abilene Food Bank, or the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.
