Timothy R. Hamilton, 58, of Abilene, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2010 in Abilene, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 4th, at Wylie United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Jeff Hatcher and Bishop Dan E. Solomon. Burial will follow in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. Tim was born in Loraine, Texas to Lynn and Fay (Bowlin) Hamilton on September 19, 1951. He attended school at Loraine and graduated from Hardin-Simmons University. Tim married Debra Black on June 3, 1978 in Abilene. He had been a resident of Abilene over 30 years. Tim worked at J. H. Taylor Gas Co. and was co-owner of Wes-T-Go. He retired in 1990. Tim was an avid golfer and pursued the love of golf his entire life. Tim was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Debra of Abilene; daughter Tiffany and Joe Fry of Abilene; son Brandt and Summer Carter of San Antonio; brother Keith and Nancy Hamilton of Salemburg, North Carolina; and cherished grandchildren Madeline Fry of Abilene, and Charlie Carter, Katherine Carter, and Rose Carter of San Antonio. Pallbearers will be Jim Adams, Kyle Doby, Conway Jordan, Don Poindexter, Harold Preston, Bill Steen, Craig Urban, and Pat Weaver. Memorials may be given to Hospice of the Big Country, 4601 Hartford, Abilene, TX 79605; Rescue the Animals, 4620 North 1st Street, Abilene, TX 79603; or any charity of your choice.
