Born on February 22, 1926, in Penfield, Illinois, she was a graduate of St. Mary's University in Notre Dame, Indiana, with a degree in Liberal Arts. Terry moved to Abilene in 1951 from New York.
A member of the Church of the Heavenly Rest, Episcopal, Terry was a woman of great faith. Terry was a dynamic Abilenian. She was an active member of the Junior League and one of the first volunteers of the West Texas Rehabilitation Center. As a member of the Cotillion Club, she chaired many debutant balls. She supported the Grace Museum and was proud to be a founding member of the Center for Contemporary Arts, serving on its board of directors, and in later years becoming an accomplished artist herself. Always impeccable, Terry was selected as one of the Abilene's Best Dressed Women. Terry also served on the board of Hendrick's Hospital. She was a real estate broker and co-owned the real estate company "Those Two Ladies" with Frances Gordon. Terry and husband Elbert (E.E.) had a great love of travel. She especially loved to visit Paris, and was distinguished by breaking her arm on the Great Wall of China on one of their many adventures.
She shared, with all who knew her, a tremendous love that is evidenced by the devoted family and friends she leaves behind. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Elbert E. Hall, and her many brothers and sisters. She is survived by her loving family: her sisters, Peg Kennedy, of Abilene and Florence Whalen, of Penfield, Illinois; her brother, Gordon Hannagan, of Penfield, Illinois; her children, Susan Parker and husband Terry, of Austin, Bobby Deegan and wife Cindy, of Abilene, and Nancy Deegan-Morton, also of Abilene; Jean Deegan, of Austin, Carol Hall and husband Leonard Majzlin, of New York, Ann Hall, also of New York, and Jane Hall, of Washington, D.C. Her grandchildren are: Kimberly Deegan-Morton, of Abilene, Jennifer Deegan and husband Zach Richards, of Austin, Robert H. Deegan, III, of San Francisco, California, John Michael Deegan, of College Station, Texas, Gracie Deegan, of Abilene, Emily Hall, of Washington D.C., Susan Blinkoff and husband Jordan Corngold, of Los Angeles, California, and Daniel Blinkoff, also of Los Angeles; and Gigi's great-grandson, Wally Corngold, of Los Angeles. Terry is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and countless dedicated friends.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Tittle, John Shelton, Fred Lee Hughes, Frank Pugh, Tom Choate, Jim Alexander, Zane Travis, and Bill Minter.
The family of Terry Hall would like to thank Terry Nelson, Ritzy Hodges, Michelle McArthur, Macayla Carrol, and Carrie Henson for their compassion and kindness through the last year and a half.
