Thelma was a faithful and loving wife and mother. She was gracious and kind to all who entered her meticulously kept home. Thelma was baptized at Calvary Baptist Church in Abilene, Texas in 1952. Her heritage was a very strong work ethic bound by her desire to do the best she could do in all that she did. The love of Jesus was evident by her worn Bible, the songs she loved to sing and the grace she showed to everyone.
She cared for the outside and inside of her home with enthusiasm and determination. The linens were always pressed without wrinkles. The china and crystal would shine and make her dinner table complete. The Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners were amazing. The children especially loved the German Chocolate cake and the divinity candy. What a woman was our Mother, Grandmother, and GiGi. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Survivors include her brother, B. T. Evans (Melba) of Tomball, Texas; children, Helen Langham and husband Norman of Garland, Texas, Ronnie Westfall and wife Beverly of Abilene, Texas, daughter-in-law Mrs. Chris Westfall of Dallas, Texas, and Linda Miller-Benson and husband Tom of Abilene, Texas; and nine grandchildren, Stefani (Mrs. John) Podvin, Dr. John (Marguerite) Westfall, Keith (Deborah) Westfall, Dr. Brian (Patti) Westfall, Ronda Westfall, Scott Langham, Sheri Langham, Mike (Debbi) Miller and Leslie Cauthen. Thelma had 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her son, G. David Westfall, and 15 brothers and sisters.
Special thanks to Sears Hospice for the gentle and kind care given to our Mother. May God richly bless each of the care givers for the love of Christ they share daily with their patients.
