Terry Jeffers

Terry Jeffers, 63, passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018 in Abilene, Texas.

Terry was a good man and a loving father of 3 girls and a very caring grandpa. He always made everyone smile or laugh and was never afraid to make new friends. He was a singer of silly lyrics to famous songs, a car enthusiast, a wrestling fanatic and avid Ohio State Buckeye fan.

Visitation will be 9:00am to 10:00am Thursday, November 1, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, followed by a funeral service at 10:00am officiated by Rev. Doug Roysden.

Born in Akron, Ohio on February 26, 1955, Terry was the son of Rudolf Kuharski and Vina (Strunk) Jeffers.  He was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served during the Vietnam War, and a retired HVAC civil engineer.  He married Barbara “Barby” Anderson on June 13, 1987 in Victorville, California.  He moved to Abilene from Arizona in June 2017.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Leila Cherie Ziegler; and niece, Jame Duncan, and brother-in-law Tommy Ray Thompson.

Terry is survived by his wife, Barby Jeffers of Abilene; two daughters, Salena Pruitt and husband, Rick, of DeQueen, Arkansas, and Kristen Jordan and husband, Gene, of Abilene; and six grandchildren, Elijah Ziegler, Araiya Jeffers, Mazie Pruitt, Izzy Jordan, Emma Jordan, and Freedom Ziegler. Survivors also include his brother, Glen Jeffers of Tennessee; sister, Virginia Oulette of Maine and niece, Tammy Thompson of Alaska; sister-in-law, Salena Duncan and husband Roger, and nephew, Toby Duncan, all of Arkansas; brother-in-law, Larry (Loretta) Anderson of Arkansas; brother-in-law John Anderson and wife Mina of California, sister-in-law Mary Anderson of Tennessee, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
