Teri Lyn Payne

Teri Lyn Payne, 40, of Abilene, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2008 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 29, 2008 at Beltway Park Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. today, Sunday, December 28, 2008 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. October 10, 1968, Teri was born in Hobbs, New Mexico to Billy South and Margaret (Bible) South. She graduated from Hobbs High School in Hobbs, New Mexico. Moving from Hobbs, New Mexico, Abilene has been Teri's home for the past 16 years. She married James Kyle Payne in Abilene on May 28, 1993. Teri was a member of Beltway Park Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her grandparents. Teri is survived by her parents, Billy and Margaret South, of Hobbs, New Mexico; her husband, Kyle Payne and their daughter, Shelby D'Lyn Payne, both of Abilene; one step-daughter, Kristen Lynn Wood and her husband Colt, also of Abilene; one brother, Seborn Van South and his wife Tracy, of Hobbs, New Mexico; a nephew, Colton Van South, also of Hobbs, New Mexico; her mother-in-law, Betty Payne, of Sweetwater, Texas; two brothers-in-law, Alan Payne and his wife Sandra, of Lubbock, Texas and Vance Payne and his wife Vicki, of Cedar Hill, Texas; and one sister-in-law, Shanon Stone, of Sweetwater, Texas. She is also survived by her special friend, Bobby Wood, of Sweetwater, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Teri went home to be with her Lord and Savior. She was a very devoted wife, mother and friend. Her adult life was centered around her love for children, her church, her school and her friends and family.
