Tamara Paige Koen, 17, died Saturday, October 4, 2014 in San Angelo. Heaven gained a hero. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 11th at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd. in Abilene with Pastors Jeff Hatcher and David McKamey officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. at the Caradan Cemetery in Mills County near Goldthwaite. Visitation will be Friday, October 10th from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Tamara Paige was born October 29, 1996 in Abilene, Texas to Karen (Sharpe) and Terry Koen. She was a member of the Brownwood Primitive Baptist Church.
Tamara graduated from Abilene High in May 2014 which was a year earlier than scheduled and was attending Cisco Junior College. She wanted an education in order to provide a better life for her and daughter, Kamberlyn. Tamara loved her family so much. She never wanted to be the center of attention. She loved all people equally. Tamara was not an early riser, but Kamberlyn, her life, was able to make her rise and shine.
Survivors include her sweet daughter, Kamberlyn “Kami” Fallin; mom, Karen Koen; dad, Terry Koen; brother, Derek Koen; maternal grandparents, Bob and Janie Sharpe; paternal grandmother, Linda Koen; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her paternal granddad, Campbell Koen; uncle, John Conlin; and cousin, Troy Koen, Jr.
Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, Bailey-Howard Funeral Home and Starbuck Funeral Home.
