David Marshall, 59, died Thursday, August 11, 2011, at an Abilene medical center.
David was born on May 20, 1952 and adopted by his loving parents, Ruby and L.T. Marshall. He graduated from Abilene High School, Class of 1970.
He was employed by the City of Abilene as an electrical inspector, and also worked part time for Lowe's Home Improvement Center.
David married Mary Pieper in December of 1999 in Abilene. He loved his God, wife, family and friends. He was a member of First Assembly of God in Abilene. He loved playing the organ and accordion at church. He also loved Southern Gospel Music. David was an anointed musician. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 559 in Abilene for over 25 years.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Pieper-Marshall of Abilene; son, Tony Marshall; three daughters and their husbands, Sandra Marshall Estrumse and Scott, Kimberly Marshall Barr and Troy, and Tiffany Marshall Hackworth and Kent; stepdaughter, Valeri Littrell and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 15, at First Assembly of God, Abilene with Pastor Rick Earp officiating. A Masonic graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in Snyder Cemetery in Snyder directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Robert Jones, Bob Reid, Dwayne Williams, Tom Camp, Kirk George, Dean Horton, Jerry Sartor, Robert Briley, Barry Card, and Leroy Haynes.
