T. H. Antilley, 88, of Abilene died Wednesday, December 15, 2010, at his residence.
The son of Ray Triplett Antilley and Sarah Catherine "Callie" Insall Antilley, T. H. was born on April 20, 1922 in Elmdale, Texas, and graduated from Abilene High School. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. A lifelong resident of Elmdale and Abilene, he worked for International Harvester Co. for 37 years as a mechanic.
T. H. married Lola Bernice Best on September 2, 1944 in Elmdale. His grandparents were instrumental in establishing Elmdale Baptist Church, where T. H. was ordained a deacon in the 1950's and faithfully served as a member for many years. He loved to fish.
Mr. Antilley was preceded in death by his parents and a great-grandson, Ian Giger.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lola Antilley of Abilene; three sons and their spouses, David Antilley and Beverley of Beaumont, Robert Antilley and Linda of Wichita Falls, and Mark Antilley and Celinda of Fort Worth; daughter, Nancy Chrismer and husband Chris of Abilene; brother, Ray Antilley of Beaumont; sister, Ruth Skaggs of Abilene; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 18, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, with Chaplain Mike Patrick and Rev. Bob Cheatheam officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
