Sue Humphrey, 78, of Tuscola, Texas died Friday, September 12, 2014.
Born in View, Texas on January 4, 1936, Sue was the daughter of the late Hazel (Smith) and Cecil Conklin. She lived in the Abilene area most of her life. She received a Bachelor of Education degree and taught in the Wylie I.S.D.
Sue married Charles Humphrey in Abilene on June 23, 1956. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Tuscola.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Humphrey; an infant son, Charles David Humphrey on August 31, 1958; her parents; and one sister, Wanda Lee Conklin.
Sue is survived by her two daughters, Carolyn Gleason and husband Robert, and Connie McCoy and husband Chuck, all of Tuscola; six grandchildren, Kayla Gleason, Laura Gwinn and husband Waylon, Matt Gleason, Jake Gleason, Taylor Insall and wife Christian, and Abigail McCoy; six great-grandchildren, Tyler Hussman, Tanner Hussman, Kylie Gwinn, Preslie Gwinn, Cash Gwinn and Easton Gwinn; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 15, at First Baptist Church in Tuscola with Rev. Burtis Williams and Rev. DeWayne Bush officiating. Burial will follow in Drummond Cemetery directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, September 14, at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Gleason, Chuck McCoy, Taylor Insall, Waylon Gwinn, Matt Gleason and Jake Gleason. Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Hussman, Tanner Hussman, Kylie Gwinn, Preslie Gwinn, Cash Gwinn and Easton Gwinn
Memorial contributions in Sue’s memory may be made to Broadview Baptist Church or Bluff Creek Cowboy Church.
