Sue Ann Gooch Fillmon

Sue Ann Fillmon beloved wife, mother and “Grandma”, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 in Weatherford, TX. She was 76. Sue was a career wife and mother to her family and a dedicated servant to her Lord. She lived her life for them and took great pride in providing and fostering a loving and caring Christian family home life for her husband Ray and her children and grandchildren. Sue was a story teller and as the wife of a career navy man and her childhood sweetheart she traveled beyond her Abilene birthplace at the age of 18 and lived a rich and colorful life filled with challenges, wonder and experience. Her family and her unyielding faith in God is her legacy. Her courage, strength and tenacity will be missed by all that knew and loved her. Sue was preceded in death by her husband Ray, her parents, Elmer and Mildred Gooch also of Abilene, and parents-in-law, Harvey and Hollis Fillmon of Abilene. Surviving are her two daughters, Paul and Patti Lee of Summerville, SC and Linda Marsalko of Arlington; son, Scott and Liz Fillmon of San Antonio; five grandchildren PJ Lee, Lori Marsalko, Rich and Kristi Cuddhy, Stephanie and David Fillmon; five great grandchildren, Kayla, Paxton, Damia, Jackson and Graham; two sisters, Shirley Williams and Charlotte O’Donald of Abilene; and many other treasured family and friends. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at The Hamil Family Funeral Home on 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd. in Abilene, TX with Rev. Roger Duck officiating. Family visitation will be from 12 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tarrant County Food Bank Empty Bowls program.
