Stephen Leo Watts, 64, of Abilene, Texas, passed away on November 29th, 2021 in Abilene, Texas.

Steve was born in Wellington, Texas, to Lester Ray and Georgia Mae (Brawley) Watts on February 5th, 1957. Early in his childhood, the family moved north to Stinnett, Texas, where Steve attended Stinnett High School. He was active in multiple sports, band, and received many accolades throughout his time as a Rattler. Steve attended Abilene Christian University, majoring in Communications, where he played football for the Wildcats before an injury forced him to focus solely on his studies. He graduated in 1979 and returned to the Texas panhandle to begin a career in Sales.

Steve eventually moved back to Abilene where he put down roots. He founded More Clean of Texas in 2004, and grew a successful business with his son for over 17 years, still working alongside his employees until his death. Steve’s pride and joy were his kids and his grandchildren, but for anyone that knew him, his yard was a close second. When he wasn’t maintaining his perfect lawn, Steve was a huge high school football fan, enjoyed talking Baylor Bears football with his daughter, loved watching the Texas Rangers (and any baseball) in person and on TV, and could always be found wearing a good pair of custom boots. Steve was the definition of hard work; he was passionate in everything he did, and his life exemplified the values that were instilled in him from an early age.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Lester Ray Watts.

Steve is survived by his son Cole Watts and wife Kelsey, daughter Kelli Davis and husband Cole, mother Georgia Mae Watts, sisters Cynthia Smith and Connie Green, and brother Tim Watts. Steve was also “Pops” to 4 grandchildren- Jolee Mae Davis, Hunter Todd Watts, Jacey Linne Davis, and Ty Stephen Watts.

Pallbearers will be Bob Davis, Mark Kruse, Shane Arrington, Jason Smith, Beau Green, and Devin Watts.
