Stephen Magill Brower, 74, passed away on February 16, 2018, at Hendrick Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Memorial Service will be held at one o'clock Saturday, February 24, 2018 in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church, 1333 North 3rd, Abilene, Texas. Services will be conducted by First Baptist Church, the immediate family and The Hamil Family Funeral Home.
Steve was born in Mercedes, Texas, December 21, 1943 to Adrian Julian Brower and Frances Eleanor Gardner Brower. He graduated HS there and attended North Texas University for his undergraduate Degree. He married Bettie Ann McElyea, also from Mercedes, on March 28, 1964. Together they raised three children.
Steve had many careers over the years and retired as the Loan Coordinator for Hardin-Simmons University in 2016.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Guy E. Walters, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Bettie Ann Brower; his children: Adrian Eron Granneman, Stephen Carl Brower (Carol) and Sarah Frances Sneed (Christopher); 5 grandchildren: MacKenzie Ann Granneman, Stephen Taylor Brower, Katherine Faye Brower, Connor Magill Sneed and Lily Eleanor Sneed; two sisters: Nancy Walters and Mary Brower; nephew Stephen James Walters (Erin) and niece Susan Walters Kimber (Charles).
Memorials may be given to Meals on Wheels or Hendrick Hospice Services, or the charity of your choice. We wish to thank the Hendrick Hospice Staff and especially the staff of A6 of Hendrick Medical Center, who lovingly cared for him during difficult days.
