Stephan Tomas Bryan, 10, of Abilene, passed away suddenly in the early morning hours of October 7, 2007, due to complications from a ruptured appendix. Prayer services will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 9 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, with Father Fred Nawarskas officiating.
Stephan was born on September 18, 1996 in Houston, Texas to Stephen Lee Bryan and Dawn (Comella) Bryan. Stephan attended 4th grade in the ALPS program at Jackson Elementary. A bright child with great curiosity, Stephan was fascinated by NASA and the space program, enjoyed reading and playing the piano. Having moved to Abilene from the Houston area with his mother a year ago, he enjoyed spending time with his family, thoroughly enjoying Nana's cooking and shadowing Nanu in anything he did. He attended Holy Family Church, and was enrolled in the CCD program.
Preceded in death by his father, Stephen, he is survived by his mother, Dawn Bryan of Abilene; maternal grandparents, Thomas and Mary Comella of Abilene; his paternal grandmother, Linda Bryan of Abilene; three uncles, Thomas Comella, II and his wife Jennifer of Sugar Land, Texas, David Bryan and Theresa Jones of Clyde, Texas, Timothy Bryan and his wife Melinda of Abilene; three aunts, Pam Pelton and her husband David of Katy, Texas, Regina Jackson and her husband Brent of Austin, Texas, and Lisa Bryan of Abilene; and numerous cousins.
