Staci Elizabeth Eaton

1963 — January 24, 2010

Staci Elizabeth Eaton, 46, of Abilene died suddenly at her home on Sunday, January 24, 2010. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, in the chapel at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Pastor Thomas Humphries of Champions Church will officiate. Staci was born in Abilene, Texas on July 26, 1963. She graduated from Knox City High School in 1981 and from Hardin Simmons University in 1990. After graduating from college, Staci moved to Dallas and tried her hand at a number of different occupations before deciding that working for the man just wasn't her thing. She returned to Abilene in 1996 to be closer to family and friends. She loved her pets, treating them more like children than animals. Over the past few years, Staci enjoyed holiday cruises with her family and friends. She thought the Caribbean was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen. She was preceded in death by her father, James Foster Eaton. Staci is survived by her mother, Sue P. Laughter, of Abilene; one brother, Kevin Eaton and his wife Sheila, of Weatherford; two step-brothers, Turner Laughter and his wife Darla, of Boerne, and Bobby Arnold, of Dallas; one step-sister, Shelby Luke Laughter, also of Boerne; nieces and nephews: Blake Steele, Katie Eaton, Natalie Steele, Korbin Eaton, Kennedy Eaton, Savannah Barnes, Kamryn Eaton and Sophie Barnes. She is also survived by her life-long friend, Vic Blain, of Abilene. Memorials may be made in honor of Staci to Rescue the Animals, 4620 North 1st Street, Abilene, Texas 79603, or to the donor's favorite charity.
